A Well-Known Fact – Now Proven*
Donat has been known for generations for its beneficial effects on digestion. It has been used to treat constipation for over 400 years with no side effects. Knowledge of the positive effects of Donat has been passed down through generations. In 2015, it was scientifically proven in a clinical study, conducted in accordance with rules and procedures that apply to clinical trials on medicinal products.
The study was conducted in Germany on participants with functional constipation, as defined by clinical parameters. During the six-week study, participants consumed 0.5 L of Donat per day. The specific amount consumed in the morning and evening was left to the participants. Different methods were used to assess effectiveness: assessments of the weekly bowel movement frequency, stool consistency on the Bristol Stool Scale, surveys on the participant’s physical activity and general health, evaluations of effectiveness and tolerance by participants and researchers, food and drink diaries, and laboratory testing.
The results showed significant improvements in bowel function for the subjects who consumed Donat. After six weeks, subjects who consumed Donat experienced three times more frequent bowel movements than subjects from the control group. Likewise, the stool consistency saw a 50% improvement in subjects who consumed Donat. During the study, more than 94% of participants and 97% of researchers made the assessment that Donat was effective, well tolerated, and that it had improved their quality of life.
The results support the assumption that Donat, as a mineral water rich in sulphate salts, can be used as a first-line treatment for people who experience irregular defecation or hard stools, as it facilitates normal bowel movements.
