For the main

300 g

beef ribeye

350 g

broccoli

4 cloves

garlic

2 tablespoons

oil

40 g

hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon

cornflour

100 ml

150 g

Procedure

  1. Cook the rice according to the instructions on the packet. Break the broccoli into small florets. Thinly slice the beef. Cut the garlic into very thin slices. In a bowl, mix the cornflour with 100 ml of water.
  2. Heat the two tablespoons of oil in a large frying pan or wok. Add the beef, season with salt and pepper, and stir-fry until the meat browns (3 or 4 minutes).
  3. Remove the meat from the pan, and add the broccoli to the same oil. Add 50 ml of water, and cover to let it steam quickly.
  4. Return the beef to the pan, add the hoisin sauce, and mix well. Pour over the cornflour slurry. Cook for 2 or 3 minutes more, until the sauce thickens and all the ingredients are well-coated.
  5. Serve with warm rice, sprinkled with sesame seeds for extra flavour and texture. Enjoy!
